Standard Hán-Nôm Characters is the standardized form of hán-nôm characters prescribed by the Han-Nom Revival Committee of Vietnam. Standard Hán-Nôm Characters are determined based on the traditional usage of hán-nôm characters after arrangement and sorting of Hán-Nôm documents. In the system, the variant chữnôm are eliminated, the writting of chữhán are Vietnamized, the hán-nôm characters used for transliteration of Loan words are determined, and the usage of hán-nôm characters in compound words of Sino-Vietnamese words, Pure Vietnamese words, and Hybrid words are designated.
