English: Nagoya Castle, built by Ieyasu Tokugawa in 1609, is one of the most wonderful castles in Japan (on par with Osaka Castle and Kumamoto Castle). It was burned down in a carpet bombing by the U.S.Army in 1945, and rebuilt imitation towers by the city of Nagoya in 1959. The castle's tower is decorated with famous golden Shachihoko Castle Golden Shachi-Hoko Statue01.jpg, a mythic creature with the head of a tiger and the body of a fish.
日本語: 名古屋城。1609年に徳川家康が築城した日本三大名城の1つ。1945年、第2次世界大戦の名古屋空襲で焼失し、1959年に名古屋市が中心となって再建した。天守閣には有名な金の鯱が飾れて、名古屋城及び名古屋市の象徴とされている。
